Gerald Aldana (Video Mixer)
The party was called Amoeba, it was at Den of Thieves. The equipment was there. Gerald didn't know exactly how to use it, but he felt it should be used. Since then, other than calling himself HE*B*G*B*TV, he has done live video mixing at the NYC Fringe Festival ("F.O.B. to U-Haul"), at the Kitchen ("Quark Soup"), at the Fake Shop, and has taken the Amoeba party Pittsburg twice this year. Every now and then you can see him do his thing at various multi-media locations in NYC. He just likes to add images to all the beautiful drama and music that NYC definitely has.

A Parson School of Design graduate, Paul wears many hats. He's a fashion stylist, window designer, underground recording artist and can be found on Tuesday nights hosting at Jackie 60.

Lewis "Flip" Barnes (Trumpet)
Trumpeter and vocalist, Lewis F. Barnes,Jr. has worked with and/or recorded with bassist William Parker, drummer William Hooker, percussionist Warren Smith, and the Black Rock Coalition big band. He has also worked with the Jones Twins since 1991.

Tom Calagna (Corporal Crunch/Speaker of the House)
Attended Goddard College in Vermont where he studied theater and worked with David Mamet, William H. Macy, Jonathan Katz, and Paul Zaloom. Tom Calagna as Corporal Crunch A founding member of the Two Penny Circus and Oddvark Theater Company. Tom is a devotee of Lord Buckley and considered one of the foremost Buckley interpretors. Performed Buckley at the 90th Birthday Fest for his Lordship in 1996. In 1997, he starred as Lord Burkley in the off-Broadway production of Lord Buckley's Finest Hour at Don't Tell Mama. Most recently, Calagna Starred again in An Evening with Lord Buckley, which ran at the Monkey's Paw in Greenwich Village until June, 1998.

Anna Carbonell as Girlfriend #2

Anna Carbonell (Girlfriend #2)
A native-born Filipina, had her first acting affiliation with City Kids Repertory. She then joined the Royal Hawaiian Dance Company where she is now the lead dancer. She graduated from Queens College in 1997 where she appeared in numerous dance concerts and plays such as The Who's Tommy and The Crucible. She is currently performing with Plaza Theatrical Productions in South Pacific as Liat.

David-Carlton (Video Camera)
After twenty years of underground club DJ'ing in Philadelphia, David-Carlton has found himself directing, technical directing and producing shows for Brooklyn's Cable Access facility, where he originally thought that he would be limiting himself to being seated behind the audio console. He is also an editor at TidBit Video Productions and is currently striving to reach one of his goals of doing audio for nature programs. This is his first experience with a live stage production.

Martha J. Cinader (Writer, Producer)
Recent projects include the release of "Living It" a full length CD of poetry and music recorded with Po'azz Yo'azz on the Liquid Sound Lounge label, and When the Body Calls, a collection of poetry and stories published by Harlem Martha Cinader, writer/producerRiver Press. She also publishes and edits Planet AUTHORity at the Cinasphere. Martha wrote and starred in a two-week run of Dreamscape at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1995, which was published by Tenth Avenue Editions in 1996. She has written, adapted and produced several radio dramas for WBAI Radio, including a previous incarnation of Mission of Love, and hosts and produces Spoken Words every Monday night from 10-10:30pm.

Jason Tobias DiMatteo (Bass)
Jason got his bacelors degree in music at NYU in '92, and his masters at the Aaron Copland School of Music in '97. He is a versatile bassist who moved to NYC in 1988. Since then he has performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to jazz festivals in the US and abroad. As a sideman, he has worked with artists as diverse as Vernon Reid, Helga Davis and the New York Gay Mens Chorus. In addition, he is leading his own band Child of Gravity.

Ariel Figueroa (Lighting Design)
Ariel has been doing lighting for ten years. He started at Club Tracks, where he learned lighting and sound. Since then he has worked at the Sound Factory, with Junior Vasquez, the Sound Factory Bar with Frankie Knuckles before coming to his present home at Vinyl. He has recentely travelled throughout Asia and Europe to doing his lighting in primarily night clubs.

Walter Fischbacher (Piano)
This Austrian started his career in Vienna, where he studied classical and jazz piano at the Musikhochschule Wien. His versatility in musical styles enabled him to perform professionally in settings of funk, rock, jazz and classical music. In 1996, after having moved to New York City to complete his studies at the New School of Social Research, Walter performed and recorded with the world renowned "Vienna Art Orchestra". He has toured Europe extensively with Austrian vocalist Elisabeth Lohninger, and has performed and worked with George Garzone, Al Foster, Chico Freeman, Billy Harper and Reggie Workman.

John A. Gammon (Janitor)
Moved to the area 5 years ago. Since then he has acted in several Off-Broadway productions and Dinner theatres. Currently he is with a performance company that is yet to be named. He hopes someday to be filthy rich.

Jeannie Hopper (Producer, Sound Design)
Began in radio doing voices & sound design for various radio skits on New York City's WBAI. Her sounds design work moved into the realm of bringing various poets words to life in her DJ mixes found on her live radio show Liquid Sound Jeannie Hopper,  producer, /sound designLounge & in venues around NYC with her Urban Aquatic Poets collective & her Wordology+Mixology series. Jeannie has her own promotion company and record label - Liquid Sound Lounge Recordings, (www.liquidsoundlounge.com ). She played the role of SpaceWoman in the 48 episode run at University of the Streets and the radio drama version in 1990. She helped design the sound for Cinader's Dreamscape during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. She's one of the DJ's performing in Cinader's Jazz and Poetry quartet Po'azz Yo'azz.

Stephanie Jones (SpaceWoman)
Suzanne Jones (EarthWoman)
The Jones Twins are writer/performer/musician twin sisters Stephanie Jones and Suzanne Y. Jones. They combine theatre, musical stylings, spoken word poetry and comedy to create their own unique and entertaining performance mutation.

The Jones Twins as Earthwoman and Spacewoman

Their full-length performance work The Jones Twins Do Bebop Muzak was produced by the Smithsonian Institute's Center for African-American History and Culture, and by the New York Shakespeare Festival's Public Theatre, Aaron Davis Hall and Franklin Furnace in New York (where they were named 1994 Emerging Artists). They have appeared at Lincoln Center, Central Park Summerstage, on national radio and at downtown NYC's Fez, CBGB's, The Kitchen, SOB's, Nuyorican Poets Café and Dixon Place.

The Twins have written songs for international recording artist Malcolm McLaren. Suzanne can be heard selling you soap, lotion and mosquito repellent over the TV airwaves. Stephanie was nominated for an Emmy award, Cable Ace award and three NAACP Image Awards as a producer of Nickelodeon's highly acclaimed multi-cultural children's program "Gullah Gullah Island."

Kelli Kolodny (Girlfriend #1)
Recent New York credits include Leya in Yankl Der Schmid with the Folksbeine Yiddsh Theatre, Peggy in Godspell at the Oasis Theatre, Secondra in Johua and the Grandfather Clock and a "hyperactive" Lemur in Frankenspell Superstar at the 13th Street Repertory Theatre. Regional credits include Little Red Riding in Into the Woods, Puck in A Midsummer Nights Dream, Shelby in Steel Magnolias, Ado Annie in Oklahoma, and the Baltimore/Washington premiere of Nine.

Mara McEwin (BeggarWoman/Janitor's Assistant)
Recently finished the world premiere of Eugene O'Neill's Bread & Butter at the Provencetown Playhouse. Some of her New York credits include Ken Sipillary's: Harsh Epiphany, Lead Chorus in Andromache, Belle in Christmas Carol, and several independent films. Mara is Co-Founder of Treehouse Shakers: A Dance & Theatre Collective and a member of American Women Ideal.

Jasper McGruder (Director)
Recent projects include Zora and Langston at Theater For The New City. Monk n Bud at The 1997 New York Fringe Festival(winner of Best Acting Award). He has also directed Laughing Matters at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1986 and Monk n Bud in 1993. Jasper also works as an actor and co-hosts Gutbucket Matinee on WBAI. He also plays harmonica with The Blues Duo.

Shelley McPherson (Mistress Mona Love)
Recent acting credits include: Taxi! Taxi! Or The Equality of Life and The Red and Black Masque (both at Theater For The New City). Hair, The Dining Room and Liz Morden in Our Country's Good (all at Third Eye Rep.). Tourvel in Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Westside Rep.), Julie in Jake's Women (Attic Ensemble), Theatresports (Georgian Theatre Festival) and featured Guest with the sketch comedy company, Urban Side Effects (Rose's Turn).

Susan O'Connor (Megaphone#2)
New York credits includes: The Rape of Henry Mudd and The Butterfly's Evil Spell. Regional credits include: Six Degrees of Separation, Equus and Eleemosynary.

Erin has performed in film, television, and commercials. "Mission of Love" marks her New York City theatrical debut. She continues studying her art in Manhattan and holds an undergraduate degree from Yale University, from which she was recently graduated with honors.

Z. I. Sanchez (Set Design)
A Registered Architect in the State of New York having completed a Master of Architecture, Cranbrook Academy of Art May 1998, has re-established a New York Studio. In addition to providing the full range of architectural services, from programming, design, and construction to interiors and furnishings... ZIS collaborates with graphic and industrial designers, sculptors and other multi-media artists.

Susan Scutti (Voice of Miss Sprocket)
As a poet, has been published in Black Swan Review, Aloud:Nuyorican Poets Café Anthology, The Unbearables, as well as other journals/zines. In addition, she has given readings throughout NYC at such venues as The Fez, The Knitting Factory and Bruce Weber's annual New Year's Day reading at Café Nico. "The Renaissance Regan with a Muted Shade of Green" is the title of her book of short stories, just published (November, 1998) by Linear Arts.

James P. Sherman (Voice of Landlord/the Producer)
has had a somewhat checkered career ranging from appearances as a yuppie type on TV's "Love of Life" and "Secret Storm", to playing a somewhat slow russian peasant in Nickoli Gogol's "The Marriage", in Prospect Park. Though experienced in film and theatre as well, he's now concentrating on radio performance because, he says, there's no need to look one's best.

Paul N. Shore (Videographer)
Direct from Montreal, Canada, Paul works as a freelance video journalist and documentarian. Paul manages Jazz Pharmacy, an ambient jungle jazz trio, also from Montreal. His interests include the politics of media and the digital revolution.

Paul Skiff as the Preacher

Paul Skiff (Preacher)
Is a writer and artist. Scripts and recordings of his work are included in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago and the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library. He co-produced and created the sound design combining voices of 69 poets for the ground-breaking spoken word recording Nuyorican Symphony - Poetry Live From The Knitting Factory. He has been performing solo and in collaborations since 1980.

Matt Skollar (Pimp)
Matt has worked professionally in New York for the past three years. His credits include off-broadway productions of Acts of Contrition and A Bungalow Story as well as several independent shorts and a recent feature "The Video." Mr. Skollar is a graduate of the New Actors Workshop where he studied with Mike Nichols and George Morrison.

Anthony Sloan (Stage Manager) (EarthWoman's Agent)
Began in theater as part of the intermediate acting class at the Negro Ensemble Company where he also learned the technical aspects of stage production. He has staged managed in many situations throughout the years. Anthony has written many plays. And. directed Martha J. Cinader in Dreamscape at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Benjamin Soto (Lighting Assistant)
Benjamin is a senior at NYU School of Education, in the Communication Studies program. He is an aspiring screenwriter and is currently being trained in lighting design by Ariel Figeuroa.

Charlotte A. Taylor (Producer, Writer, Web Designer)
Charlotte is a web designer and painting restorer. She sold sodas, covered the door, and even acted in Mission of Love when it was the opening act of Listen and Be Heard, Martha's weekly poetry event. She soon became a contributing writer to the sprawling weekly soap opera. The multi-media web version of "Mission of Love" is her latest creation. check out her other sites: c@+

Crystal Clear Waters as CeeCee

Crystal Clear Waters (CeeCee)
Crystal performed with her mother on a storytelling tour of the Albuquerque libraries. She has appeared in several school plays. Crystal is an avid writer and studies Tae Kwon Do.

Leontyne Watts as the Goddess

Leontyne Watts (Goddess)
Poet, actress, and singer... Has performed in concert, theater, radio and television for many years -- in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. She is presently a performer with the Roy Wilkins Park Senior Dolphins and the American Center for Theater and Storytelling.

Robert Weiss (Drums)
A Los Angeles native, who recently relocated to New York, Robert has spent the last couple of years playing jazz and has been featured as a soloist in several fine groups which performed in LA and other parts of California. Since moving to New York, he has had the opportunity to play live and in the studio with folk artists, western swing groups, and jazz projects, as well as teaching drums to children.
