Poetry is the straightest path that words can take to reach the Soul. A life-long quest for truth, the writing, speaking, chanting, singing of poetry has been the root and motivation of most of what I have accomplished or failed to accomplish in my life.

At times precise and pre-meditated and at other times inspired and improvised, the writing and performing of poetry alone or among musicians and other poets has always been a part of my life. Until recently I performed every Friday night at 8pm for years, to start off the open mic at Listen & Be Heard Poetry Café, a place my husband Tony Mims and I established in downtown Vallejo. Now that it is closed I am working on opening a virtual poetry café.

I am currently working without a contract or agent, on a novel length prose poem about a single mother in NYC in the 1990's. I also have a book length manuscript of odes.
